About the game
The Forgotten City began as a popular mod and offers a mystery adventure with a non-linear story and several endings. It takes place in an open ancient Roman city whose architecture, costumes and customs are recreated from historical sources. The settlement’s secrets are uncovered by questioning memorable residents and through reason, charm, bribery, trickery, intimidation or skillful use of the time loop; violence is possible but has limited use. Moral dilemmas carry far-reaching consequences, and gender, origin and backstory are chosen when creating the character.

The Forgotten City is a mystery adventure game of exploration and deduction, and a re-imagining of the critically acclaimed mod that won a national Writers’ Guild award and racked up over 3 million downloads. Combat is an option, but violence will only get you so far. Only by questioning an intertwined community of colourful characters, cleverly exploiting the time loop, and making difficult moral choices can you hope to solve this epic mystery. Here, your decisions matter.
