About the game
Set during an ominous eclipse on the shape-shifting world of Carcosa, Housemarque's new game follows Arjun Devraj (Rahul Kohli), a Soltari enforcer determined to pursue answers in a place of dark secrets and hostile inhabitants. The studio describes the project as the next evolution of the third-person action seen in Returnal. Encounters demand a mix of high-tech weaponry, evasion, shielding and parrying, along with combining abilities and studying enemy bullet patterns when the odds are against the hero. Progression is permanent, with an evolving set of weapons and upgrades, and the world changes after every run while gained resources carry over. Second Chance revives the hero instantly on the first death, returning him straight to the action. Atmospheric sci-fi 3D audio and a dark electronic score by composer Sam Slater accompany the journey, while on PS5 near-instant loading, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers convey the Eclipse's influence on Arjun's suit and weaponry.
