About the game
STRANGER THAN HEAVEN begins in 1915, when a boy named Makoto Daito secretly boards a mysterious ship at night. With an American father and a Japanese mother, he endures harsh persecution because of his Asian heritage. Having lost both parents and left entirely alone, Makoto makes a desperate decision to travel to his mother's birthplace, and that ocean crossing alters the course of his life forever. The action takes place across five eras and five cities — Kokura, Kure, Minami, Atami, and Shinjuku — each modeled after real locations of its respective period. Combat has the player move Makoto's left and right sides independently and instinctively to attack, defend, and grapple, while a range of weapons including knives, hammers, and katanas can be mastered and enhanced. Early in the story, his mentor uncovers Makoto's musical gift, and he takes on the role of a showman, gathering street rumors, scouting singers and performers, and producing acts throughout the country.
The Deluxe Edition includes the base game and pre-order bonus, plus additional content: an original outfit for Makoto Daito, 4 new weapons, 4 new skilled performers, 3 new stage production items, a special promotional poster, a record player with the in-game soundtrack, and an electronic camera. It suits those who want extra options for customizing the character, weapons, and performances.

San Francisco, 1915. Our story begins as a young boy sneaks aboard a mysterious ship in the dead of night. His name? Makoto Daito. Born to an American father and a Japanese mother, Makoto's world is one of harsh persecution, a fate cruely cast upon him simply because of his Asian heritage. After losing both of his parents and finding himself completely alone, Makoto, in an act of desperation, decides to risk it all and travel to his mother's birthplace. With nothing but the shirt on his back, Makoto soon learns, however, that his voyage across the Pacific is anything but a "free ride," and that this one choice will forever change the course of his life. ■5 ERAS, 5 CITIES The story unfolds across a version of Japan that may have existed in another life altogether, immersing you in 5 sprawling cities, each modeled after real locations of their respective eras. 1915, Kokura, Fukuoka: home of what was said to be one of the world’s largest foundries, a smoke-scorched town bursting with the passion of hard-driven, equally fiery workers. 1929, Kure, Hiroshima: a port town dominated by Japan’s largest naval arsenal and heavily influenced by the presence of yakuza organizations. 1943, Minami, Osaka: the biggest entertainment district in western Japan, set against the ever-rising tension of a world at war. 1951, Atami, Shizuoka: a bustling seaside getaway synonymous with tourism in postwar Japan. 1965, Shinjuku, Tokyo: Japan’s most iconic pleasure district—a city of swirling and unpredictable chaos. ■THE MOST CREATIVE, INTUITIVE, AND EXTREME VIOLENCE In these turbulent times, fighting to survive means one thing: doing whatever it takes. Experience this struggle through the raw brutality of an ever-changing combat system that feels alive. You won't just control Makoto Daito, you'll become him—moving his left and right sides independently and instinctively as you attack, defend, and force your way to victory. Follow a jab with a crushing blow, send enemies flying with a charged attack, tackle them while they stagger or pin them to the ground and unleash a relentless flurry of punches. Nothing is off the table in Makoto's world. You can also block enemy strikes with one hand and instantly counter with the other. Reading their moves and creating your own openings is key to coming out on top. Additionally, you’ll master and enhance a wide array of weapons—knives, hammers, katanas, and more—as you fight your way through era after violent era. ■LIFE OF A SHOWMAN In the earliest chapters of our story, Makoto's guide and mentor discovers his hidden talent for music, and, before long, Makoto finds himself not only singing a tune or two but stepping into the role of a showman, producing a wide variety of incredible acts throughout all of Japan. In order to get these shows off the ground, Makoto must gather rumors from the streets and use them to scout skilled singers and performers. He can then head out into town to create new music—collecting any and every sound he can find: the swish of a broom, snoring of a sleepy neighbor, the rumble of passing trains, distant animal cries, even the grunts and growls of the enemies he fights. By combining these sounds, Makoto can craft original tracks, brand new music for the whole nation to hear. From there, he'll choose the setlist, arrange the band, assign a cast, and design the production—from lighting colors to staging—all in an effort to bring each show to life. As you tour the country staging performances and captivating audiences, you’ll experience Makoto's rags-to-riches rise to success as a master showman.

How do the editions of STRANGER THAN HEAVEN differ?
There are several editions: STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN Deluxe Edition. What each one includes is listed in the “What the edition includes” block on this page: it changes together with the edition selected in the purchase panel, as does the price.
Which region should I pick to buy STRANGER THAN HEAVEN Deluxe Edition?
Every region has its quirks — a lower price, or no Russian language. Use the “PlayStation account region” switch to pick the one that suits you. Keep in mind that your PlayStation account region must match the one you pay in. Available regions: Ukr. UA, India, UAE, Poland, USA.
How do I prepare my account for the “With sign-in” method?
Before paying:
1. Make sure your PSN password and two-factor backup codes work — the order cannot be completed with wrong details.
2. Turn off passwordless sign-in (passkey): the account needs a password and two-factor authentication.
3. Empty your PS Store cart.
4. Turn off the password prompt at checkout.
5. Remove all bank cards from the account.
6. If you are buying for a Ukr. UA account, spend the wallet balance beforehand: PS Store deducts it automatically at purchase.
7. For a US account, set a state without sales tax, such as Oregon.
With a prepared account, the order is completed fastest.
Why do the gift codes add up to more than the order price?
PS Store top-up cards come in fixed denominations (Turkey in multiples of 250 TRY, India 1000 INR, Poland 50 PLN, UAE 40 AED), so the set is picked for the nearest amount. The difference stays in your account wallet — you can spend it on anything else in the PS Store.
Does the game stay on the account forever?
Yes. The purchase happens on your own PlayStation account, so the game stays there for good — exactly as with a normal PS Store purchase.
I do not have a PlayStation account in the right region — what do I do?
Tick “PSN account registration” at checkout and we will register a new account in the region you paid for — 150 ₽, or free on orders from 5 000 ₽ without signing in or from 5 130 ₽ with sign-in. The account is entirely yours: the email, the password and every purchase stay with you.
What to do if something goes wrong with the order?
Open “Orders” in the site header, pick the order you need and write in the chat — you can attach a screenshot to your message. An operator replies.
