About the game

TimeSplitters is a first-person shooter about standing against a race of aliens that exists beyond time and space. Having woken from a long slumber, these creatures disrupt the temporal continuum and intend to wipe out human history, so players have to join forces against a shared enemy. The single-player campaign travels through ancient civilisations, future worlds and other periods while fighting those who seek to change the course of history. Multiplayer supports 1–4 players and offers several match types, such as deathmatch and capture the flag; the weapon arsenal spans the past, present and future, and more than 55 characters with unusual abilities are available. The game contains 18 levels devoted to different themes and eras, from ancient temples to futuristic space stations, and their design emphasises verticality and open spaces. A level editor lets players build their own locations and share them with the community, while humour in the characters' personalities softens the intense combat.
