About the game
Way of the Hunter is an open-world hunting simulator set in the Pacific Northwest and Transylvania. Each of the two maps spans 144 square kilometers, and players can cross them on foot or by car. Tracking relies on animal signs, blood splatter analysis, and a rewindable bullet camera that replays each shot. Wildlife behaves in a lifelike manner, and the ecosystems shift in response to the hunter's actions. Beyond free hunting, there is a story about the struggles of a family hunting business, plus online co-op and a photo mode. The simulation also accounts for the passage of day into night, weather and wind, and bullet ballistics, while the gear selection includes licensed equipment from Bushnell, Federal, Leupold, Primos, Remington and Steyr Arms. Money earned from selling meat goes toward equipment, hunting passes, and taxidermy for trophy displays.
