About the game
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a tactical PvPvE first-person shooter set in corrupted backwaters lost to history. Players operate alone or in a small group of up to two teammates, facing twisted monsters and rival Hunters. The core activity is Bounty Hunt: track down a boss, eliminate it, claim the Bounty, and fight to an extraction point while competing Hunters try to interfere. Death is permanent, so every bullet and wound matters, and success unlocks dark powers and forbidden wealth. The game world is constantly evolving through frequent updates that introduce new Events, weapons, characters, and ornate rewards. Sound design uses environmental cues such as footsteps in mud, howling dogs, and gramophone melodies by Port Sulphur Band to convey information.
