About the game
EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 is a sports simulator from Tiburon and Electronic Arts, scheduled for release in 2026. At its core is the new Persona Engine, which equips each NFL athlete with an individual character whose motivations, demands and reactions to events differ, making Franchise a league that shifts with the player's decisions. On the field, emphasis falls on physical WR/DB interactions, contested 50-50 moments, short-yardage mechanics and plays like the Tush Push, while defenses benefit from improved coverage systems. Before and after the snap, gameplan adjustments and streamlined pre-play controls let a team's alignment and reactions be configured in advance. The Superstar G.O.A.T. career mode offers an expanded progression path with new playable positions, and Ultimate Team roster building is extended through Captains. Game days are framed by new intros, drone shows and broadcast packages, and dynamic weather and field degradation alter conditions during a match.
