About the game
Empire of the Ants is a third-person real-time strategy game in which the player controls an ant colony and fights for it as 103,683rd, an inquisitive ant of the warrior caste. Set in a photorealistic forest, the game involves exploring the environment, forging alliances with local wildlife, and conquering enemy nests to expand territory. The core mechanics include choosing legions — starting, support, and super-predator — using pheromone powers, and building chambers in outposts to develop the economy, manage legions, gather intelligence, or strengthen defense. The solo campaign lasts 20 hours and is inspired by Bernard Werber’s saga. Online modes include 1-vs.-1 matchmaking, three free-for-all matches, and a private lobby for training with a friend or AI, with cross-platform play supported. The Swarm Together update adds a horde mode for solo or co-op play, a story challenge mode with 6 missions, a 2-players-vs-2-AIs mode, plus the Paussus support unit and the Pheromone Storm power.
