About the game
Gunnar, son of Jarl Gripr, is driven into exile after his father is killed by Steinarr Far-Spear, leaving his home in ruins and his people scattered. Revenge is only part of the task: Gunnar rebuilds the settlement, seeks alliances and assembles a warband. Combat is turn-based, and its outcome depends on where fighters stand, how units work together and what the terrain offers, from high ground and flanks to natural hazards. Fighters bring their own skillsets and can be recruited, trained, given customizable gear and improved through upgradeable abilities. The Viking village develops from a camp into a stronghold as villagers take on roles, resources are managed and buildings are upgraded to unlock new units and equipment. Resources come from the wilds and from trade with allies, while the smithy, armory and workshops provide advanced equipment that affects combat strength and the settlement's defense. Play is single-player only, and the writing is by Giles Kristian.
