About the game
Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth is set in a future where global events have destabilized the world, causing the collapse of modern society and the rise of a new world order. Humanity's re-developed nations turn to deep space travel, and the player leads an expedition to found a new civilization on an alien planet. At the outset, choosing one of eight expedition sponsors, each with its own leader and gameplay benefits, establishes a cultural identity, while decisions about the spacecraft, cargo and colonists shape the starting conditions on arrival. On the new world, players build outposts, unearth ancient alien relics, tame new life forms, develop cities and establish trade routes. Technological progress is represented by a nonlinear technology web organized around three broad themes, each tied to a distinct victory condition. Advanced military, economic and scientific satellites can be deployed in an orbital layer, units can be customized through tech upgrades, and up to 8 players can compete in multiplayer.

As part of an expedition sent to find a home beyond Earth, you will write the next chapter for humanity as you lead your people into a new frontier and create a new civilization in space. Explore and colonize an alien planet, research new technologies, amass mighty armies, build incredible Wonders and shape the face of your new world. As you embark on your journey you must make critical decisions. From your choice of sponsor and the make-up of your colony, to the ultimate path you choose for your civilization, every decision opens up new possibilities.
