About the game
Barotrauma is a 2D submarine simulator with survival and horror elements, playable solo, in online co-op, or in online PvP. It is set in the not too distant future on Jupiter's moon Europa, where an irradiated icy surface means life exists only in the ocean below. Players navigate a harsh underwater world, carry out missions for the last remnants of humankind, study the ruins of an alien civilization, and confront monsters. On board, they operate complex systems such as the sonar, nuclear reactor, weapons, engines, and pumps, while also handling wiring, crafting, and medical systems. Six character classes with distinct skills are available: Captain, Engineer, Mechanic, Medic, Security officer, and Assistant. Online play supports up to 16 players on a submarine, with bots supplementing the player count, and procedurally generated maps and missions are included alongside built-in editors for submarines, characters, and procedural animation.

Barotrauma is a 2D co-op survival horror submarine simulator, inspired by games like FTL: Faster Than Light, Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress and Space Station 13. It’s a Sci-Fi game that combines ragdoll physics and alien sea monsters with teamwork and existential fear.
