About the game
Fallout 4 is set in a world reduced to ash by nuclear war, where the player takes the role of the sole survivor of Vault 111. The game offers a large open world with hundreds of locations, characters, and quests, and its structure emphasizes freedom of choice. Players can join factions, forge alliances, or avoid them entirely, and every decision is said to matter. Character creation uses the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system and hundreds of perks, allowing for different playstyles such as a diplomat, a stealthy sniper, or a heavily armored fighter in Power Armor. Combat can be handled in real time from first- or third-person view, or through the V.A.T.S. system, which slows down time for targeted attacks. Resource gathering and crafting let players build armor, weapons, food, and entire settlements across the Commonwealth. The game is single-player only.
