About the game
Metaphor: ReFantazio is set in a fantasy world where people struggle with anxiety, and the fate of the kingdom is decided by a tournament for the throne. The protagonist awakens magical Archetype powers dormant in his heart and gathers a party of distinct characters to take part in that contest. Travel between distant towns and dungeons is handled by a gauntlet runner, and the game comes from the team behind Persona 3, 4, and 5. Combat is turn-based but at times calls for quick real-time reactions, while the fighting style depends on the Archetypes chosen for the party. Time management also matters: days are spent on quests, dungeon exploration, and treasure hunting, while evenings go to conversations with allies and improving royal virtues. The game is single-player only.
