The action of SILENT HILL f takes place in 1960s Japan, in a small mountain town called Ebisugaoka that was created specifically for this game along with its story and characters. The hometown of Hinako Shimizu is suddenly covered by fog, and its streets turn into a nightmare through which the heroine must make her way, solving puzzles and fighting monsters. The story was written by Ryukishi07, and the music includes pieces by Akira Yamaoka. The game offers five endings: the first playthrough ends in a fixed conclusion, while from the second onward the outcome depends on the player's choices. It is a single-player tale of psychological horror in a Japanese setting.
