About the game
Stronghold: Warlords is a real-time strategy game by Firefly Studios set in East Asia, where players command Mongol hordes, imperial warriors and samurai clansmen to besiege Japanese castles and fortified Chinese cities. A key addition is the ability to recruit, upgrade and command AI warlords on the battlefield, each providing perks for industry, border fortification, weapon forging or coordinated attacks. The campaign consists of 31 missions, while the skirmish trail adds 45 scenarios; there are also 28 multiplayer maps, a skirmish mode and a Free Build sandbox with AI invasions. Multiplayer supports up to 8 players, mixing 4 human and 4+ AI participants across the maps. Gunpowder introduces new siege weapons, and players can field units from four distinct cultures, including Mongol horse archers, imperial fire lancers, samurai and ninja.

The latest chapter in Firefly Studios' real-time strategy series, Stronghold: Warlords is the first game to recreate the castle economies of East Asia. In Warlords players take command of Mongol hordes, imperial warriors and samurai clansmen as they lay siege to Japanese castles and fortified Chinese cities. Besiege historical warlords using new gunpowder-fuelled siege weapons across 31 campaign missions, 45 skirmish trail scenarios, 28 multiplayer maps, skirmish mode and Free Build sandbox with AI invasions.
