About the game
Banner Saga 3 is the closing chapter of a viking trilogy, developed by Stoic and released in 2018. The Darkness covers the land, and the fate of the world rests with the survivors who have travelled far from home. In this final part, more than 40 heroes are led through harsh trials, among them familiar faces, new allies, powerful menders and, for the first time, a playable dredge. Outcomes are shaped by decisions made not only in this game but also in the earlier parts, with saves carried over between the trilogy's games. Combat offers more varied battles than before, including disturbing new enemies, multi-wave fights and heroic titles for allies that can change the course of a battle. The series' landscapes and animation are presented in a refined form in this third part, with more fully animated story moments than the two previous games combined. The score was composed by Grammy-nominated Austin Wintory and recorded by a live orchestra. The game is single-player only.
