About the game
The Escapists is a prison sandbox game focused on crafting and strategy, where the main goal is to engineer an escape by any means necessary. It takes place in prisons around the world, featuring 8 fully operational prisons with different daily routines. To avoid suspicion, the player has to attend roll calls, take on a prison job and conceal stolen materials. Escape plans can vary: causing a prison riot, digging a tunnel under the walls or stealing a guard uniform to blend in. The game includes over 185 items to find and combine into useful tools, as well as various favours offered by inmates. It is a single-player experience with multiple save slots, allowing several escape attempts at once. A prison editor lets players create their own prison from scratch and share it with the community.

You’ve landed yourself in prison again, and your only chance is to engineer an escape by any means necessary. How you do it is up to you! Why not cause a prison riot? Or dig a tunnel right under the walls of the prison? Or even steal a guard uniform to blend in with your captors?
The Escapists is a unique prison sandbox experience with lots of items to craft and combine in your daring quest for freedom. Life in prison will keep you on your toes with the strict rules that you’ll have to break. The guards are out to stop any escape attempts, so you’ll have to avoid suspicious behaviour by attending roll calls, working a prison job and hiding your stolen craftables.

What is a Steam gift and how is it different from a key?
