About the game
The action begins shortly before the explosion caused by the original F.E.A.R. team, with Special Forces operative Michael Becket as the protagonist. What starts as a routine assignment becomes a struggle to stay alive once Alma Wade's power breaks loose, and the squad crosses a devastated landscape while hunting for a way to stop her. Becket's enhanced reflexes let him slow time, and the surroundings offer tactical cover to him and to enemies alike, who use advanced tactics and turn the environment against the player. Close-range combat unfolds in indoor and outdoor areas, while an upgraded engine handles the visuals and effects. Beyond the single-player campaign, a multiplayer mode allows play with and against friends. The Toy Soldier Update introduces maps where shrunken players fight inside a pinball machine, a hospital laboratory and a sandbox.
