About the game
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 takes place in a world inspired by Belle Époque France. Once a year the Paintress wakes and paints a cursed number upon her monolith, and everyone past that age turns to smoke; the number keeps ticking down, and next she will paint “33.” A party departs on a final mission to destroy the Paintress and end her cycle of death. Combat is turn-based, but real-time actions shape each fight: dodging, parrying, countering and aiming at enemy weak points, with combos built by mastering attack rhythms. The expedition is assembled through gear, stats, skills and character synergies, and its members include Gustave and Maelle. The journey from the Island of Visages to the Forgotten Battlefield leads through hidden quests and secrets, while creatures of legend provide allies and special companions who grant new travel methods. It is the debut game from Sandfall Interactive, built on Unreal Engine 5, and it is played solo only.
