About the game
The protagonist is a broken robot who accidentally drops from a cargo ship onto an Earth left without humans and now inhabited by machines, and he has to reach his ship in time. Movement relies on the Gravitize engine, which creates a separate gravity around the hero, accelerating him on downhills and slowing him on climbs. Other speed boosts found in the world, such as Enerjuice, can be picked up and used as well. The journey spans 11 levels with different climates, biomes and challenges, and includes encounters with strange robots and flights over junkyards. Skins and special tricks can be unlocked for the main character, while a time trial mode with 5 extra levels lets players compete over completion speed. It is a single-player adventure game with racing elements.
Description from Steam
Defunct is an indie adventure game with a focus on flow, speed and an engaging world. You are a broken robot that accidentally falls out of a giant cargo ship onto a post-human Earth, now inhabited by robots. You have to get back to your ship before it’s too late!
You are equipped with a Gravitize engine. It is used to create a separate gravity around yourself; this is the main source of your speed. Use this in downhills to accelerate. But be careful, using it uphill will slow you down. In addition to this the world is full of different speed boosts such as Enerjuice, which you can pick up and use to go faster.
These tools enable you to drive through the world, meet strange robots, fly through junkyards and boost your way back to your ship.
Features
- High speed gameplay with unique ‘gravitation’ engine.
- Traverse 11 varied levels full of different climates, biomes and challenges.
- Unlock skins for the main character.
- School everyone with special (unlockable) tricks.
- Compete for the best completion times in time trial mode (which features 5 extra levels).

What is a Steam gift and how is it different from a key?
A gift is a present our bot sends straight to your Steam account via your profile link: no code to enter, the game appears in your library once you accept the gift. A key is an activation code you enter yourself in the Steam client.
Which gift region should I choose?
The one your Steam account is registered in: Steam will not accept a gift from another region. The region is shown in your Steam account settings under "Store country". "CIS countries" means Belarus, Armenia, Georgia and other CIS countries.
How will I receive the gift?
After payment you enter a link to your Steam profile and the bot sends the gift straight to the account — you only need to accept it in Steam. It usually takes 2–5 minutes, around the clock.
What if the account already has this game?
Steam will not let you accept a gift of a game already in your library — check the library before buying. If it happens, write in the order chat: we will refund you.
