About the game
The Escapists: The Walking Dead applies the mechanics of The Escapists to the world of The Walking Dead comic, keeping the 8-bit pixel art style. The player controls Rick Grimes, who leads a band of survivors that includes Maggie, Hershel, Glenn and Michonne, and must secure their safety and find an escape route out of each area. The story follows the comic's timeline: Rick first fights his way out of Harrison Memorial Hospital, then visits the Greene family farm before heading to the Meriwether Correctional Facility and Woodbury. In total there are 5 locations, among them Alexandria. Survival centres on crafting: over two hundred different items can be used to make more than 70 tools or weapons, firearms included. The survivors keep up daily routines for morale, and familiar comic characters can be recruited to help with important tasks. The game is single-player only, with Steam achievements, leaderboards and cloud saves.

In this unique game, recreated entirely in the charming 8-bit pixel art style of The Escapists, you play as Rick Grimes as he takes on hordes of walkers let loose upon the world.
Rick is in charge of a band of survivors featuring many of the original comic book cast, including Maggie, Hershel, Glenn and Michonne. Rick must secure the safety of the group by seeking out a safe escape route from each area, and manage several dangerous tasks to keep as many of the group alive as possible. The game faithfully matches the timeline of the comics, meaning Rick must first fight his way out of the Harrison Memorial Hospital, visit the Greene family farm before visiting destinations such as the Meriwether Correctional Facility and Woodbury.
