About the game
Fallout 3 is a role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and released in 2008, built entirely around single-player play. It takes place in the Capital Wasteland, among the post-nuclear ruins of the monuments of the United States, where survival means contending with radiation, Super Mutants and hostile mutated creatures. The world can be viewed in first or third person, with the perspective switched at the touch of a button. Character development relies on the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system along with dozens of skills and perks, while the choice of side and approach — civilized talk or a Plasma Rifle — shapes the hero and changes the world. Combat features V.A.T.S., built into the Pip-Boy Model 3000, which pauses the action, lets the player target specific body parts and queue up attacks. An advanced version of Radiant AI drives the characters, combining facial expressions, gestures, dialog and lifelike behavior.
